What the diary does
NiteLog records your bedtime, minutes to fall asleep, remembered night awakenings, out-of-bed time, and optional sleep quality. It shows estimated sleep efficiency, a chart of the latest seven records, and a dated history. One record is kept for each date.
The estimate subtracts sleep onset and 15 minutes for each awakening from time in bed. The fixed 15-minute assumption may differ from your actual waking time. It cannot measure sleep stages, breathing, or the cause of sleep problems.
Open your sleep diaryYour data, your browser
Your diary entries stay in localStorage. They are not uploaded to NiteLog, and no account or cloud backup is created. Records do not sync across devices or browsers. People who share your browser profile may be able to see them.
Use Clear all data in the diary to remove all records and any email you saved in the course card. Clearing this site’s browser data also removes them. Private browsing may discard data when the session ends. If storage is blocked or full, the diary shows a warning.
The email course is a preview. Entering your email saves it locally; it does not subscribe you or send your address to a mailing service. No third-party site analytics are currently installed. Diary fields and email addresses are not sent to an analytics service. Hosting providers still process normal web requests.
Book links take you to Stripe or Amazon when configured. Those services handle purchases under their own terms and privacy policies. Payment details are not entered or stored in this diary.
For direct eBook purchases, NiteLog checks payment status with Stripe and stores a purchase reference and verification time to provide downloads. Download access uses a necessary, secure cookie that expires after 24 hours. We do not store card details or upload your sleep diary. Keep your payment confirmation URL private: it can be used to renew download access.
Tracking and education
NiteLog is for personal tracking and education only. It does not offer medical advice, a diagnosis, treatment, or a promise of better sleep. Its labels describe estimates, not your health. If you have persistent sleep difficulties, discuss them with a clinician.
